A Lonely Island film disguised as a quirky indie film, Palm Springs is a great oddity. A big concept wrapped up in a small character piece, it’s elevator pitch is Groundhogs Day as a rom-com, but it’s a little more than that. The love story that develops is interesting and natural, and the characters are a lot of fun. It’s a bit darker than Groundhogs Day, to it’s benefit with some edgier moments. But at it’s core, it’s a surprisingly cute love story with some awesomely wacky comedic moments.
