While it’s not Kevin Smith’s best movie, not even near the top, Clerks III is probably his most honest and earnest film. A clear parallel to the director’s own life, seeing the passion of filmmaking through the lens of his characters in this odd meta-narrative can be quite charming. None of the jokes in the movie were laugh-out-loud funny, at least not to me, but the movie definitely has a charm to it and can even pull at the heartstrings. It’s not great, but for fans of Smith, it’s definitely worth a look.
